CoReBio, a coordination of bioscience core facilities

- The aim of CoReBio is to provide easy access to information about regional core facilities (in particular through this Web site), to disseminate relevant information between them, to organise common applications for funding from local and regional authorities, and to provide training opportunities.

CoReBio PACA (Coordination Régionale des plates-formes en Biologie, Regional coordination of bioscience core facilities) is the new incarnation of Marseille-Nice Genopole that operated as a « genomic institute without walls » from 2000 to 2010 (http://www.genopole.univ-mrs.fr/). Its scope is wider, as it now concerns all regional core facilities in biology, not only in genomics as previously. Its organisation is more decentralised, as most of the funding for individual core facilities is now provided directly by the national IBiSA agency (http://www.ibisa.net, in French) that coordinates core facilities at the national level. The aim of CoReBio is to provide easy access to information about regional core facilities (in particular through this Web site), to disseminate relevant information between them, to organise common applications for funding from local and regional authorities, and to provide training opportunities. CoReBio (Director: Jean Imbert) is funded through IBiSA and regional authorites; its office is located in the Luminy Science Park (carte), and its senior administrative officer is Ms Emmanuelle Chouvet (emmanuelle.chouvet@univmed.fr).
